The assignor was intended to be a social club for women and the landmark U.S. operation. A location was started in Los Angeles and a planned location in Washington, D.C. never was started. The business was affected by COVID-19’s impact on people’s ability to get together in large social gatherings. The buildout of the New York City location was to be halted because of the moratorium that was put in place in both New York state and the city. The assignee, with the assistance of its counsel has been actively negotiating with the landlord to recover a portion of the security deposit. There is also a liquor license currently in escrow from the Los Angeles location. All assets are collateral for a secured loan advanced by Cain Hoy Ltd., a U.K. entity.
