Dillon Fleet Services, along with its affiliated entities was a logistics company which provided dry and liquid bulk transportation services to the agriculture, building products, industrial, and energy industries across a nationwide network of terminals. Dillon primarily hauled raw material inputs for the manufacture of agricultural fertilizer, roofing shingles, and road asphalt. Dillon maintained terminal facilities in Tampa, FL; Mulberry, FL; Savannah, GA; Atlanta, GA; McCook, IL; Michigan City, IN; Heidelberg, MS; Morehead City, NC; Medina, OH; and Dallas, TX, with its corporate headquarters located in Burr Ridge, IL and maintained a workforce of approximately 400 employees. Dillon experienced a significant impact to operations at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and customers across the company’s markets temporarily shuttered operations. Due to this as well as a high level of driver attrition the decision was made by the company to enter into a general assignment when a last-ditch effort to sell the business as a going concern failed.
The assignment for the benefit of creditors is under the supervision of the Chancery Court for the State of Delaware. The Assignee has addressed the liquidation of equipment, fleet of over 700 trucks and trailers, collection of accounts receivable, dealing with state environmental agencies, liquidation of real property assets, and pursuit of various claims against third parties.
